6.5.7 Organization, Structuring or Sequencing of Content

The term architectonics relate to the structures needed to present a curriculum and the principles which assist the curriculum developer to organize the content of a curriculum in such a way so as to achieve maximum effectiveness for students.

When the content have been selected, the problem arise where it should be placed in the overall curriculum and why it should be placed there.Structure is an essential characteristic. The curriculum is structured by

  • Sequence (what topic follows another in time)
  • Hierarchical relationships between various content elements.

The two most important principles of the architectonics of content, namely.

  • Scope of curriculum content.
  • Sequence of curriculum content.
