1.5 Some Distinctive Features of Concept of God

The distinctive features of concept of God in Islam are detailed as below:

  • God (Allah) is one and only one.
  • Only Allah is worthy of worship.
  • Only Allah is the Creator of all the things
  • Allah is Omnipotent. Omnipresent and Omniscient
  • Allah is supreme, Exalted, Eternal, absolute. Perfect, almighty, all- Wise.
  • Allah is the Possessor of Will. Wisdom and unbounded grace
  • Allah is the Lord of Power, the Lord of the East and the West, the Lord of Universe. Everything began by His Will and everythingwill return to Him.
  • Allah is above every want while all depend on Him.
  • Allah is Sovereign, the Master of the Day of Judgement..
  • Allah (God) is responsive to man's supplication, for He is close to every man, even closer than his jugular vein.

He is the lord of all the worlds and of all mysteries. He has power over all things and to Him belong all that is in the heavens and the earth. He is the Lord of the Throne of Honour and the Throne of Glory Supreme, the Lord of the dawn and all the ways of ascent. It is He Who spreads out the earth, like a carpet, sends down water from the sky in due measure; to revive it, with fruit, com and plants and has created pairs of plants, each separate from the others and pairs of all other. things.

His decisions are executed in the twinkling of an eye, or even quicker, for there is nothing to oppose His will. It is He who says; "Be, behold! It is." His decree is absolute; no one can change it. He draws the night as a veil over the day, the day and the night pursuing each other in rapid succession. He created the sun; the moon and the stars, all governed by the laws ordained by Him and under His command. He is the beginning and the end. As al-Ghazali has explained, he is the beginning as the cause and the source of our existence, and he is the end as an ideal or rather Ideal.

He is above all needs. He has no need at all to secure any benefit by deception. When Allah (God) wills, He creates and when he wills. He destroys. And this is what His being the Omnipotent "part excellence" means and in the course of all these He Himself never changes, it is only the action, which changes.
