1.1 Concepts of Test

According to Norman E. Gronlund (1985):

"Test is an instrument or systematic procedure for measuring a sample of behaviour. (Answers the question "How well does the individual perform)."

According to Ebel & Frisbie (1991):

"A test is a set of questions, each of which has a correct answer, that examinee usually answers orally or in writing."

According to Mehrens and Lehmann (1984): "Test connotes the presentation of a standard set of questions to be answered."

According to the Dictionary of Education (1989):

"Test is a method by which the presence, quality or genuineness of any thing is determined."
